Bullshit. Like Mike said, the reminders were screwed up. Yahoo
keeps dicking with the Calendar software, which keeps messing everything
up.

I just went in and tried to clean up the Handicap reminders again,
so hopefully they'll be working right again.

NOTE: there is NO handicap league tonight. It's a Wednesday, dummies.

And sorry about the reminders. They seem to be too frequent and at
odd times. Yahoo Groups has screwed up the calendar and I don't
have the patience to click every link to find out what's up. Maybe
this weekend I will get around to it.
The changed reminder times may be partly buggy calendar stuff on Yahoo's
part, but is also due to my changes. At this month's meeting, there
was some grumping about the Handicap reminders coming only an hour or
so before the even, which was too late for a lot of people to be reminded
and still get there. So, I took it upon myself to change the reminders
to 12 hours before and 2 hours before the events. Maybe that change
had a small amount to do with the larger turn-out last night? Who knows?

Anyway, if you'd like a different reminder regime, let me know what
you want and I'll be glad to edit them for you.

We had a great turnout last night of 17. I know it is tough to get out after work but I appreciate the people who make it happen. We just finished event 7 and we have about 17 events to go then handicap will be gone for another 6 months. You only need 8 events to qualify for the end of season payout so get to one event a week this summer and you can capture some of the magic.

And sorry about the reminders. They seem to be too frequent and at odd times. Yahoo Groups has screwed up the calendar and I don't have the patience to click every link to find out what's up. Maybe this weekend I will get around to it.

I have not finished the flyer yet but there will be a mail in or in person

have the artwork ASAP so we could get it on the flyer and get the discs
ordered up!

The Wash X Raffle

Eric Smith

I should explain the raffle.

When you come to The Wash you will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the larger and more unique prizes. Tickets will be 1 for $1, 6 for $5, and 25 for $20 so bring some extra cash or your check book with you. You won’t want to miss out.

This is separate from the prizes handed out after the round.

Thank you

Eric

The Wash X is ready!!!!

Eric Smith

Wow, I may have overdone it with the prizes a little. I just did a quick count and I have around 200 and all of these prizes were donated by local businesses.

Some raffle prize highlights include;

Multiple $25, $30, $50 and $100 gift certificates.

Two “OSU Lilies”.

A box of dog goodies.

An adult only hand carved ash tray from a friend currently living in Thailand (this will be explained at the event).

2 Portland Timbers scarves and  tickets (you will be going with Ted and participation in the Timber army craziness is required)

The prizes for the random drawing are many as usual.

We have a bunch of food including burgers, sun burgers, hot dogs, cookies, and probably some other stuff ( I don’t know, that’s not my department) my mom’s potato salad will also be there but none of you are allowed to have any, it’s all MINE!!!!! Ok, you can have some.

I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Yee Haa, let’s do this.

The Wash X children and dogs

Eric Smith

Hello Everyone,

Several people have mentioned that they will be bringing their children with them tomorrow. Although I don’t have any kid related activities (unless some motivated parent comes up with one) children are welcome and you will not be required to make a donation on their behalf. As far as the entry fee is concerned, to be fair to everyone, people (including children) who want a disc in the morning and would like to be in the prize drawing will need to make the minimum $25.00 donation to the food share.

Well behaved dogs are welcome. If your dog is aggressive toward other dogs or people, please leave them at home. If your dog has ever been in a dog fight but you still think they are ok, please leave them at home.

Thank you

Eric Smith

Re: Work Party the last weekend of July

Nathan Sexton

Sounds good, I will see if my dad still has the stain. I think we should probably just go with Sunday the 29th. Or both days if people are available I can likely come out and work both days. We need to keep our ears to the ground for somebody we know who is ripping out a deck or something, that is the amount of wood we need as I think there are probably 25+ unprotected trees out there that could use it. I would like to try to put in a new teepad on Sunday if we have the required expertise and I can work out getting us a mixer or truck.

Do we have any materials for reconstructing tree protectors?  I will try to note during the wash which ones are most needed and which have some reusable material.  We might need to wait on this as well.

Saturday would be best for me, as I'll be busy on Sunday, I think.

We may want to hold off on ordering more gravel, since the club's
funds are a bit extended right now. Wood chips have usually been free,
when we can get them.

Work party this morning

Nate and I will be at Adair #11 this morning from about 9:00am until
at least noon probably (or whenever we wear out). If you don't have
anything else to do this morning, a couple of extra pairs of hands
wouldn't get in the way...

A little pile, good for putting in front of tees, or patching
up SMALL spots on paths, but there's not a whole lot left there.

Yes, Dr. Bob dropped off some boards that are laying on the chip pile
behind tee #3, and also there is one or two boards still useable for
repairing/rebuilding the tree protector on #8. All we need is a little
rope and some stain (for Dr. Bob's boards). Jay had the remains of
the can of stain that he'd bought several years back.

NATE: maybe you can check with Jay and see if he still has the can,
and can tell you where it's at. He might also still have some of the
rope left that he was using on tree protectors a couple of years ago.
If not, I can get 20-30 feet of rope easy enough.

I could help on Saturday.  We might not to work on 11-13 that day to stay away from the wedding party.  We should be able to work elsewhere on a course without issues but we should probably clear that with parks to see if Sat is even an option.  Greg

I'm working on the 29th.  Saturday only works for me.  if sunday is better for everyone, thats cool.  if we can get more folks out on sat., maybe we could find out what time the wedding takes place and try to do it before or after... mornings and evenings are better for work anyway, now that summer is actually here!

I would like to have as many weed whackers as we can muster for some cleanup work. I would also like to put the finishing touches on #6 and #11 (Which will hopefully be playable by then). I am still looking into the cost of a concrete mixer rental. I think the Sunday might be the better option as I think there is a big wedding Saturday and we wouldn't want to disturb them with our working songs. Discuss!!
