We had a great turnout last night of 17. I know it is tough to get out after work but I appreciate the people who make it happen. We just finished event 7 and we have about 17 events to go then handicap will be gone for another 6 months. You only need 8 events to qualify for the end of season payout so get to one event a week this summer and you can capture some of the magic.

The Wash X Raffle

I should explain the raffle.
When you come to The Wash you will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the larger and more unique prizes. Tickets will be 1 for $1, 6 for $5, and 25 for $20 so bring some extra cash or your check book with you. You won’t want to miss out.
This is separate from the prizes handed out after the round.

Wow, I may have overdone it with the prizes a little. I just did a quick count and I have around 200 and all of these prizes were donated by local businesses.
Some raffle prize highlights include;
Multiple $25, $30, $50 and $100 gift certificates. Two “OSU Lilies”. A box of dog goodies. An adult only hand carved ash tray from a friend currently living in Thailand (this will be explained at the event). 2 Portland Timbers scarves and tickets (you will be going with Ted and participation in the Timber army craziness is required)
The prizes for the random drawing are many as usual.
We have a bunch of food including burgers, sun burgers, hot dogs, cookies, and probably some other stuff ( I don’t know, that’s not my department) my mom’s potato salad will also be there but none of you are allowed to have any, it’s all MINE!!!!! Ok, you can have some.
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

The Wash X children and dogs

Hello Everyone, Several people have mentioned that they will be bringing their children with them tomorrow. Although I don’t have any kid related activities (unless some motivated parent comes up with one) children are welcome and you will not be required to make a donation on their behalf. As far as the entry fee is concerned, to be fair to everyone, people (including children) who want a disc in the morning and would like to be in the prize drawing will need to make the minimum $25.00 donation to the food share. Well behaved dogs are welcome. If your dog is aggressive toward other dogs or people, please leave them at home. If your dog has ever been in a dog fight but you still think they are ok, please leave them at home.

Sounds good, I will see if my dad still has the stain. I think we should probably just go with Sunday the 29th. Or both days if people are available I can likely come out and work both days. We need to keep our ears to the ground for somebody we know who is ripping out a deck or something, that is the amount of wood we need as I think there are probably 25+ unprotected trees out there that could use it. I would like to try to put in a new teepad on Sunday if we have the required expertise and I can work out getting us a mixer or truck.

I'm working on the 29th. Saturday only works for me. if sunday is better for everyone, thats cool. if we can get more folks out on sat., maybe we could find out what time the wedding takes place and try to do it before or after... mornings and evenings are better for work anyway, now that summer is actually here! billy

WDGC,
I would like to have another big work party either Saturday July 28th or Sunday July 29th. Should I order more chips and or gravel through the parks or do we need to save up some money first? I would like to have as many weed whackers as we can muster for some cleanup work. I would also like to put the finishing touches on #6 and #11 (Which will hopefully be playable by then). I am still looking into the cost of a concrete mixer rental. I think the Sunday might be the better option as I think there is a big wedding Saturday and we wouldn't want to disturb them with our working songs. Discuss!!
