Thanks Nate and Billy, Colin, Conner, Shawn, Jon, Karl, Dave, Everett and others. I am happy to know there are some people who saw a need for some change and did it. You are great examples for all that no one is standing in the way of anyone's vision. It is pretty simple, if you want something done then do it. If you wait for something to be done then keep waiting.

Billy, Colin, Conner, Shawn, Jon, Karl, Dave, Everett and others we got
everything cleared out and the pins went in for the first time this
morning. I forgot to bring some paper and a marker out to make some signs
for the teepads to alert golfers to the new positions. If you see this
email and are heading out there today or tomorrow it would be great to get
something taped to the tee sign so people get a rough idea where to throw.
Hole #6 is a par 4, along with #18, so Adair is currently playing par 56.
I think as more of these par 4's go in it will make us all feel better
about ourselves if we recognize the par 4's and start talking about scores
accordingly (53 would be a -3 not a -1). It is a little bit difficult to do
given we are so accustomed to par 3 golf but we can make the change. Hope
everyone enjoys the new challenges. Let me know what you think!

New Positions

Nathan Sexton

Hey WDGC,
I am excited to have these two new positions almost ready for play! I went out today and used a pole saw to clean up some of the higher branches on both holes. I will be coming out to unlock the baskets and move them into the new positions Monday morning so that the concrete has alot of time to cure. I also would like to do a bit more finishing work on #6 before unveiling it to the masses. I need someone with a metal blade weed whacker to help me do some additional brush clearing on the fairway and walkout. Let me know if you can help or lend me your tools.
Please take note of the ribbon on #11 approximating the line of the proposed tunnel for the par 4 location. I think it will make a great placement over power type par 4. Ideally the tunnel would be roughly 20 feet wide and 120 feet long. Possibly straight or maybe a slight curve either direction depending on how the larger trees are oriented. Hole 13's tee relocation is also just a rough idea open to tweaking. Ideally I think the tee should move behind the fir tree so that it is better protected from errant upshots. Hope everyone enjoys the new positions, looking forward to bringing you some more over the summer along with concrete teepads!

is looking REALLY good this summer!!!
That mowing was on hole 16 long pin (still a little wet) and some mowing on 10 to the green of the long position and the top of the berm. 10 still could use some more clean up near the berm placement as I did what I could with the weed machine. I moved 10 regular basket to the long after mowing and 12 to short right (couldn't get it locked down in 12 long right as that lock is finicky and the tab is slightly bent there).
One of Nate's crew did the work on hole 5 (very nice) and I mowed hole 3's fairway on Monday evening.

Adair

Nate and I got the anchors put in today for the new positions on #4
and #6, and he and Dr. Billie rough-cut the walk-out from 6 to the
#7 tee, then the three of us did a little quick work on Nate's
proposal for a new position on #11, further into the woods, so that
we could get in there and run some ribbon roughly down where he
envisions the fairway going. Finally, Nate placed two flags where
he'd like to move #13's tee to (to the right about 15-20 feet).

About 2 1/2 hours later, as Larry and I were playing a round, I
noticed that the flags had already been pulled and dropped just to
the right of #13's tee. WTF? So, I put them back close to where
I remembered Nate putting them, but check it out soon, as who knows
how long they'll stay there. Also check out #11, and envision a
20' wide (or so) fairway running in (basically by near the "in the
woods" position at a 45 degree angle). The ribbon's not straight,
but the fairway would be pretty much straight. Voting on these
two proposals will occur at the next meeting and by email.

The reason for moving #13's tee to the right is to put a new #12
placement in the stump to the left of #13's tee. If the tee doesn't
get moved, then the new position for #12 can't be done. Putting a
#12 position in the stump would also involve taking a handful of
bottom limbs off the couple of fir trees behind the current right-hand
position of #12 to allow approach/putt under the trees.

(In the past couple of days, Nate and a team of his buddies did
a BUNCH of clearing/cleanup on the new #4 and #6 positions, and

Jay has all of the collars (so far as I know). I have the necessary

to keep it vertical) and could pick up the concrete in my pickup.
I could be available this afternoon or tomorrow, but you'll have to

Wash prizes and new pins at adair

Nathan Sexton

I have prizes to give to the wash! I won't be able to make it this year due to a friend's wedding though.

New hole #4 is finished and ready for concrete. I need someone with the knowhow and I need a collar to install. I am free almost anytime today or tomorrow if anyone would be willing to help me dig/pour/level the new position. New #6 is getting closer thanks to alot of hand sawing by Colin, Shawn Barry, Connor Smith, and Jon D and yours truly. We are taking out cherries, removing the limbs and stacking them near the basket of current 6. They will be used as fern protectors and path edges. I am toying with the idea of using some tree trunks to make a small wall to visually separate #6 and #9 fairways and reduce interaction.

Watch out for poison oak on new #4, there is alot of it around the green. If you are one of those lucky souls who is immune please help get some of it out of there. Thanks!

Good Morning Everyone,

The Wash is less than a month away and things are moving along nicely. The discs (see attached picture) came in last night and they look fantastic! We have Rocs and Aviar putters for the first 50 golfers to show up on the morning of the event. It will pay to show up early and golf. I also have a bunch of Blizzard Champion ($15) and Star Katana ($16) discs for sale as fundraiser discs. I will have these discs at the next club meeting and will try to have them available at some of the regular local disc golf series events. I know you want them but my schedule is very busy right now so please be patient.

I have started collecting prizes but need to pound the pavement some more, hopefully this week. If any of you have prizes for the event, please let me know and I will pick them up. We have some good ones already.

This is where I ask for money. I am very close to my goal for event sponsorship but could use some more. If you would like to be a $100.00 event sponsor, please let me know by contacting me personally. This is tax deductable.

I’m getting excited about this event and the first ever Linn Benton Food Share stamped discs look great!

See you on July 14th! J

The extra basket (old oaked) has been moved from 13 to the berm at hole 10. Some mowing/weedwacking was done yesterday evening (3,5,6,?) but not at that placement and it is/was a little ragged around the green (sorry the weed machine was out of gas). Its time may be short there as the new placement on 4 is just a collar in the ground away from being ready to play. Thanks to the greens keeper and crew.

Speaking of July (weren't we?), the 4th of July falls on Wednesday,
and the normal club meeting would be on Monday the 2nd.  Does it
make sense to postpone the July meeting until the 9th?  I'll be around
on the 2nd, but I suspect a lot of folks might take the 2nd and 3rd
