The Wash X July 14th

Hello Everyone,

It’s that time again! Time to “Wash out hunger” The Wash X is less than 2 months away and will be on July 14th at Adair County Park.

The Wash is a fund raiser for the Linn Benton Food Share and the entry is a minimum $25.00 donation to the food share. It will include a round of disc golf, Susy Stix, Ring of Fire and possibly other fun events. None of the events at The Wash are required. It's all about making money for the food share and having a good time. So, if you want to show up and sit in a lawn chair all day, that’s ok.

I said last year I would try to get T-shirts this year for the 10th annual. Well, that isn’t going to happen. Instead for the 10th annual Wash we are going to have the first ever “Linn Benton Food Share, Everybody Eats” stamped discs!!!!!!

Food is provided at this event and once again will be prepared by members of my family.

This is where I ask for money. Putting on this event will take about $1000.00 for food and discs. If I can get several $100.00 food and disc sponsors then none of the money from the event will need to be used to pay for food or discs. Any left over money from food/disc sponsors will go directly to the food share. If you would like to be a food/disc sponsor, please let me know. Food sponsorship gets you paid entry to the event and it is tax deductable! Contact me directly for more details.

I'm starting the prize gathering part of the event now so, if you would like to donate some prizes or can help gather some, please let me know.

I have attached a flyer so feel free to print it up and tape it to your neighbor’s cubicle or their back, or crumple it up and throw it at their head (please don’t throw things at other people’s heads), which ever you prefer.

Hopefully you all can make it. It should be a fun day of golf at Adair.

  County parks has decided to veto our proposed WOXIV date due to a 200 person wedding at Adair on Saturday July 28th. I talked with them about just not using the shelter but they are worried about the overall strain on the parking and trash bins out there which I can understand. I talked to city parks about possible dates to reschedule to and Willamette is free and clear on:

July 7/8 (Bad Monkey Open)
July 14/15 (Willamette Wash)
Aug 18/19 (Calapooia Classic)
Aug 25/26 (Next Adventure Am Championships)
Sept 1/2 (Hornings Disc Golf Championships) Not sure who is running this or how big it will be
Sept 8/9 (Crystal Mountain WA, Possibly Eugene Celebration)
Sept 15/16 (ORDGC)
Sept 29/30


It may be possible to convince parks to let us stick to our original weekend if we are contained to the first two parking lots and do not go beyond the ball fields. What are the members thoughts? Should we slink back into late September again or should we try to compete with another event?

sept 29/30 is the most beautiful time of the year to play golf in the valley. People may not want to camp due to the chill nights. Just put something rain related (even handwarmers) in the players pack and the rain gods will be appeased.

Blodgett Random Doubles Saturday

Hi all,
 
So who's up for some random doubles at 11:00 on Saturday?
Same fee as normal Sunday doubles, pending Craig & Mike's potential participation and decision on whether or not to include in their weekly series and Ace Pot.
 
I was reminded today that I have my dog, house and course this Saturday with my kids going away with their mom until Sunday.  I decided it is as good a day as any to encourage people to come out and play. Sorry for the short notice. 
 
Trees are leafed out and holes 5 & 7 modified since the invitational.  The course record stands at 48 if anyone wants to stick around and take a crack at that after doubles.  Kelly broke Eric's record 49 which stood for a week or so.
 
I thank those that have loaned baskets to my course since the invitational and hope many of you can make it out Saturday.  (Kelly, Mike S, Mark, Crawdad, Hoop, & Ron)  Currently have 11 baskets and 7 tones, so anyone who can bring a basket to displace tones on the shorter holes for the day that would be great.
