Adair news

Wednesday I noticed that the first BIG tree/shrub-tree in the drainage
ditch (over which the bridge crosses on #14), so in other words, as
you cross the bridge on #14, look down the drainage ditch on your
right until you come to the clumps of 'small' trees growing right in
the drainage ditch. The first one of those (which was actually quite
tall) lost the battle and fell over toward #14 short.

Today, at the bottom of the stairs on #4, someone has pried up one of
the 10' round rails on the left side of the path, pulled it clear up
(bending the rebar on one end into a U-shape) and left it laying there
in the grass. I suspect that someone got a disc stuck in one of those
trees, and figured the pole was just long enough to dislodge it.

Use of de-nutters in cases like this should be justifiable.

you're trippin'.  if it makes you feel any better kc, the stumps got the last laugh...I'm experiencing the beauty  and comfort enhancing after effects  of a fine misting of poison oak dust.  it's really awesome.

For those who haven't seen it, Nate, I, Billy, Connor, and a couple of other guys who I haven't met the requisite two or three dozen times in order for me to remember their names... (Nate's friends from the OSU team) got most of the cutting work done on the new extended "par 4" #11 position last Thursday (and chipped all of the brush and limbs) and put the anchor in the ground.

Nate, Billy, and probably some others went out again on Saturday and ground stumps down (and also on other holes, like #10, #8 and I don't know where else), spread wood chips on the new #11 fairway and its walk-out, and edged the walk-out with large limbs. (I think that walk-out is one of my favorite parts of the course now! :-)

I like the new position, took a par 4 the first game, but it whooped my butt with a bogie 5 on the second.

Great work, Nate and friends! I REALLY like not tripping over some of those stumps anymore!!!

I saw the great work done as of Thursday. Awesome to hear work has been done to grind stumps reducing trip hazards. I have permanently damaged a couple of pairs of shoes over the years catching a toe wrong on those woods holes! A distant 2nd to poison oak but one of the worst features of an excellent course. Great work guys!

Does anyone know who spread the bark chips around the course? It looks pretty great but there's one problem. I would vote to remove them from hole 14 where the forehand skip zone is. There have never been chips put there for that reason. Just my opinion though, what do others think about moving them left a little bit?

The Wash is done!!!

Eric Smith

Hello Everyone,

The Wash is done for one more year. Once again, my mom asked if she would have to do this again next year and once again I said “no, as long as we cure hunger between now and then”. This year we raised about $2000.00 so we did cure some hunger. I say about because there are still some checks coming in and I still have some discs for sale.

We had a record amount of golfers this year with about 50. The low scores for the golf round went to Kim Halsey and Dion Arlyn and the Susy Stix competition was hot again this year. In the end Dion Arlyn (top trophy collector of the day) and Conner Smith were victorious.

We had a lot of great prizes and once again everyone who showed up left with more prizes than they could carry. Hopefully next year we get even more people to relieve the burden. ;-)

I still have discs for sale:

Blizzard Boss $15

Star Katana $16

These discs have been paid for so 100% of the money for these discs go to the food share. Contact me directly if you are interested.

I want to say thank you to all the event sponsors for paying for The Wash. Thank you to all the local businesses who donated prizes.

Mostly I want to thank everyone who came to the event. The Wash is a crazy fun event and it’s  made that much better by the people who show up.

Thank you

Eric Smith

The Wednesday-Friday thing was a clue that it wasn't me. Then I tried changing it and there was no clear edit button which was another clue that it wasn't me. I used to do two reminders before each event but that was re-dick-u-less. I think one reminder at say noon the day before should work. Thanks Everett. I can scratch this one off the list of reasons I might be insane.

Bullshit. Like Mike said, the reminders were screwed up. Yahoo
keeps dicking with the Calendar software, which keeps messing everything
up.

I just went in and tried to clean up the Handicap reminders again,
so hopefully they'll be working right again.

NOTE: there is NO handicap league tonight. It's a Wednesday, dummies.
