Well of course Kelly a free meal for you (you might bless us with your presence) and absolutely no support of Doubles, I'll buy that!!! I think your comment is indicative of the thought that many are putting into the future of the club.

I think another priority we could vote on should be the mythical doubles BBQ. Maybe Mike can get Billy to organize it.

Here's the current 'ballot' that I'll be bringing to tonight's meeting for folks to vote on for 2013 priorities. If you have additions you like to add to it, best get them to me soon. Voting on this item will commence today (by email), tonight (at the meeting), and over the next week (by email). You may note that I've changed, from my earlier posting, the number of votes available to each member (from 3 to 5),
and also added the ability for you to assign more than one of your votes to the same item (if you feel strongly about it).

2013 WDGC Club Priorities Vote MEMBER'S NAME__________________________
Each club member has FIVE votes they may allocate as they wish. You may vote for 5 separate items or place all 5 of your votes on a single item or split your 5 votes in some other fashion between any number of items from 1 to 5. You may, of course, WRITE IN your own priority
not on this list and assign to it however many of your 5 votes you wish. Just be aware that write-ins are unlikely to accumulate enough votes unless a secret cabal schemes to all write in the same priority. Write in the blank before each priority the number of your votes you wish to assign to that priority. Any ballot with votes tallying MORE than 5 will not be counted.
The top 5 voted items will become the club's "Official Priorities" for 2013. REMEMBER: Any priority you vote for, you should be willing to at least work ON (in a leadership role or as a helper, but at least contribute in some fashion). We'll accomplish nothing by setting priorities for
OTHERS and not OURSELVES!
___ 1) New course ___ 2) New signage at Willamette ___ 3) Club garbage containers at Adair (tee's 4,6,7,8,9,10, walk-out 11)

I've been here 4 years now, and this bbq was legendary when I showed up. it's going to have to kick some serious a$$ to live up to the hype!
I'm expecting large quantities of hot, dripping, slow roasted meats pulled out of multiple selective tree harvest fed fires and crammed into my face hole, washed down with gallons of delicious locally hopped beers.
lets do this thing.

Ahhhh..... the "secret" funds. I only mentioned that to Nate but once.... what a memory he has. Way back in 05.... I added $1,000,000 to the WDGC Adair Doubles cofffers. I swore both Mike and Craig to secrecy once they assumed Captainship of doubles. I had hoped Nate thought I was just joking.... I was in a drunken stupor after the President's Cup in 2006 when I let it slip.... bothered by Rory once again beating me and looking for some respect anyway I could muster it. I bragged of the donation to Nate. The jig is up. But all that said.... Mike and Craig have control over the hoard.... That they have kept quiet for so long astounds me! I have no doubt their integrity is true and that the said $ 1 million has accrued well above the number originally
deposited. Now... in these desparate times, a celebration of all of your perserverance and dedication to the sport of Disc Golf in Oregon deserves some compensation! As I said, I no longer control said funds, but, the combined members of the WDGC should implore both Mike and Craig to loosen the purse strings and have a BBQ! Dana

If I remember right the doubles BBQ goes back to before my son was born (he is 7.5 now) and Kelly was playing a lot of doubles back then. His money is in the pot. But maybe I missed that Craig was tongue in cheek. Sometimes I have a hard time reading sarcasm.

Geez, that would mean Craig and I have run 390 doubles events. I think it's more like 300. I can remember Kelly there for at least two of them. You live in a sarcasm jungle--interpreting anything but numbers is probably very confusing for you.

Here's the current 'ballot' that I'll be bringing to tonight's meeting for folks to vote on for 2013 priorities. If you have additions you like to add to it, best get them to me soon. Voting on this item will commence today (by email), tonight (at the meeting), and over the next week (by email). You may note that I've changed, from my earlier posting, the number of votes available to each member (from 3 to 5), and also added the ability for you to assign more than one of your votes to the same item (if you feel strongly about it).

You may, of course, WRITE IN your own priority not on this list and assign to it however many of your 5 votes you wish.
We'll accomplish nothing by setting priorities for OTHERS and not OURSELVES!
___ 1) New course ___ 2) New signage at Willamette ___ 3) Club garbage containers at Adair (tee's 4,6,7,8,9,10, walk-out 11) ___ 4) Concrete tees at Adair ___ 5) Hole expansions and/or relayout at Willamette ___ 6) Doubling monthly meeting attendance ___ 7) Doubling club membership ___ 8) Minimum $2000 club cash-on-hand ___ 9) Representative to Parks and Recreation Board meetings and reports ___ 10) Quarterly meetings with Corvallis Parks & Rec on collaboration ___ 11) Full participation in the decision making process regarding courses ___ 12) Representatives to & From OSU and Albany Clubs with monthly WDGC reports; ___ 13) A two-day Civil War OSU/OU team event fundraising benefits at Willamette Park ___ 14) A two-day Townies vs. Schoolies (OSU) team event at Willamette Park ___ 15) Doubling of doubles & Handicap League participation and income ___ 16) Completion and acceptance of Complete Willamette Disc Golf Course re-design ___ 17) Completion and acceptance of five-year master plan for Willamette & Adair ___ 18) Courses in good repair and improved as needed (signs, pads, baskets) ___ 19) Doubling of native Oregon plantings (safety, ecologic and esthetic) ___ 20) $20 annual Dues, discount of up to $10 at $1/hour for club project labor ___ 21) Recruitment and participation by women and minorities ___ 22) Hold clinics and introduction events at local courses ___ 23) More one-day events (competition/rodeo?)

I like the idea of the t-signs without the hooks for bags. I don’t think it would be a good idea to encourage people to hang anything on the signs plus people will end up standing in the line of site of the person driving. If you really don’t want to put your bag on the ground, build something separate behind the tee. Eric

For those who didn't attend the meeting: 1) There was a long discussion on the idea of reworking Willamette. No decision made, pending... 2) Votes were taken on 2013 Club Priorities. If you haven't yet gotten your votes to me, you have until midnight, Monday, Nov 12th (next Monday night). See below for details. 3) The vote on the proposed By-Laws change was postponed until December to allow further (some?) discussion. See this message to discuss: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/wdgc/message/5524) The vote on the club President was postponed until Decemeber to all further campaigning. Too late to combine them, I spoze. Not too late, in the sense that I will be reporting the total votes for ALL of the items on the list, not just the top ones, so everyone will be able to see "which way the wind is blowing" on everything, and I imagine there will be some discussion about the priorities after the results are in. (And thanks for your priority votes, I've logged them.) I'll take 5 on 5, please and thank you.

And thanks for the effort and obvious thought that went into it.

Very interesting. A timber company like Starker if someone might have the right connections could be interested in such a deal. If you have elevation and some tree density 25 acres could be plenty. My course uses less than 10 out of 17 acres.

***************** current text ************************************* ARTICLE V - DUTIES OF ELECTED OFFICERS AND APPOINTEES
President: Shall represent the WDGC in discussions with other entities, be they Parks Departments, local government bodies or boards, businesses, or other groups. ********************************************************************
********************* PROPOSED CHANGED text ************************ Shall represent the WDGC in discussions with other entities, be they Parks Departments, local government bodies or boards, businesses, or other groups. The President may work with a Greenskeeper on issues specific to a particular course, but shall defer leadership to the Greenskeeper on course-specific issues and the club's relationship with the Authorities (ie, Parks department) governing that course. ********************************************************************
This will clarify the By-Laws, since the By-Laws in the same section state that the duties of the Greenskeeper are (pay particular attention to the last two sentences):
******************* current text ************************************** The Greenskeeper appointment is specific to a single individual course and shall supervise and coordinate the WDGC maintenance and improvement activities in regards to that course. This shall include discussions with the appropriate parks department, organization of WDGC work parties, purchase of needed supplies, cooperation with WDGC Tournament Directors in preparing the course for play in an event. The WDGC Course Greenskeeper shall be the only contact person for the WDGC with the administrative entity that manages the land on which the course exists. This makes communication between the WDGC and the park management clear and uncomplicated by the confusion of who speaks for the WDGC. ***********************************************************************
The above proposed change to the the President's duties is intended to clarify that the President may ASSIST the Greenskeeper, at the Greenskeeper's discretion, in dealing with course management, but may not take such actions without the Greenskeeper's permission. The Greenskeeper, of course, must operate according to ARTICLE VI - OPERATIONS AND DECISION MAKING, which outlines the process through which the CLUB makes all MAJOR decisions. The President is responsible for all other "governmental interactions" that don't apply to a specific course.
